What is a phrase? Why do we say 5678? What is an 8 count? Does the idea of counting music give you a headache, but you want to create your own unique choreography? Counting music helps us create sensuous choreography, and gives us musicality. In this workshop we will go over these questions and more! You will leave with tools to be able.. - To identify an 8 count phrase in mainstream music - To create your own mini combo This workshop will be theory and movement based. Beginner based. We will start with a light warmup, counting exercises, basic movement exercises and choreography, and a cool down stretch. What to bring: Water, dance wear, heels, jazz shoes or socks. Pen and paper.
